A revista norte-americana Rolling Stone revelou os seus temas favoritos feitos nos anos 90. Apesar de ser mais uma lista criada por uma publicação e, claramente, ter sido realizada por alguém facilmente tendencioso é estranho ver a ausência de algumas boas bandas que surgiram na altura.
Bandas e artistas como Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 2Pac, Green Day, Radiohead, Alanis Morissette, Blur, U2 ou mesmo Bjork não estão sequer na lista. Entretanto vemos nomes como Lil Kim ou Sir Mix-A-Lot.
